Mary-Kate in Beverly Hills

To think that she was making such a positive recovery with her daily wear...

Fashion designer Mary-Kate Olsen was spotted in Beverly Hills looking a little less than her usual fabulous self. Lost in layers that nearly swallowed her small frame, she intriguingly paired the oversized sweater and coat with blue trousers that revealed both her ankles and -- gasp -- tennis shoes.

Are comfort levels no excuse for an outfit like this, or do you secretly find this being something you would wear?

(Check out more questionable fashion looks here.)

Black SwanPrepare yourself for a bombardment of tutus, feathers, and knits -- Rodarte fans are swooning everywhere! It's bad enough that people are clocking in more hours at the gym because of Black Swan, but now clothing designers are banking on the film's popularity in hopes that consumers will flock to their stores, too.

Costume designer Amy Westcott worked with Rodarte duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy in bringing the gothic fairytale looks to life. "We had an affinity for the subject matter," Kate said. She added that it helped her understand the "darker nature and twisted kind of underbelly" of the ballet world.

Lagerfeld's Spring/Summer 2011 collection already reflects a feminine-with-a-dash-of-darkness theme, complete with dark eye makeup, sheer materials, and jeweled fabrics. BCBG Max Azria and Lipsy of London are due to sell tutus come this Spring.

Amidst this dance craze, let's not forget that there's always American Apparel.

Hilary Swank boxingShe's already been a Karate Kid and a boxer, so it's only logical that Hilary Swank would play an athletic clothing line designer next -- right?

For her next role, the two-time Oscar winner will work with DMA Designers Management Agency on developing a collection that would provide "motivation and inspiration" to get people into the gym.

The former gymnast originally thought of just doing a T-shirt line.

“Our platform is a contemporary, outdoor, athleisure brand,” Marc Beckman, DMA co-founder, told WWD.

No fashion designers have yet been tapped to work with Swank.

Earlier this year, we got to hear Taylor Momsen (sort) of fronting a perfume commercial for John Galliano. Now, we actually get to see her in the ad.

Although we found it strange that she didn’t really appear in the first version, we’re kind of torn now. After watching both videos, let us know what you think. Do you like the Parlez-Moi d'Amour spot better when you’re focusing on her singing – or on her raccoon eyes?

Jennifer Aniston perfume

Women may want to look like Jennifer Aniston, but they might not want to smell like her.

Sales of the actress' first perfume -- Jennifer Aniston (formerly named Lolavie) -- have reportedly dropped off since debuting earlier this year. Some claim Aniston's lack of promotion is to blame.

"It's absolutely not true," Jennifer's rep said in response to the finger-pointing. "The fragrance was launched specifically for Harrods [in London] and Jennifer went there personally to launch it and to do press."

Leighton Meester

A member of “Manhattan's elite” will soon be the face of Missoni.

According to E!, CW star Leighton Meester has scored a deal with the Italian fashion house.

A source claims Meester’s connection to the brand would make the actress -- who has worn a number of questionable outfits lately, including the one above – to be more “high-end like Blake.” (It was recently announced that Leighton’s Gossip Girl costar, Blake Lively, had been picked to front Chanel.)

Leighton – who is also the face of a new Vera Wang fragrance – will appear in new Missoni ads sometime early next year. In the meantime, she can been seen opposite Gwyneth Paltrow in Country Strong. That film opens nationwide on January 7.

Project Runway logo

It’ll be all about the details in a new project from The Weinstein Co.

The producers behind Project Runway are about to add a new reality program to their fashion-based arsenal. According to Deadline.com, the Bravo-turned-Lifetime series will spawn a new spinoff: Project Runway: Accessories

Accessories would be just one of several spinoffs already connected to Runway. Tim Guide’s Guide to Style, Models of the Runway and On the Road with Austin and Santino have all seen their time on air.

Although it’s unclear what challenges the future designers might face, I imagine we would probably see the final creations somehow integrated into a future episode of Runway.

Willow SmithWillow Smith cites Billy Idol as her fashion icon.

The "Whip My Hair" hitmaker has developed a keen interest in fashion despite being only 10 years old and admitted the 1980s "White Wedding" singer's look is the one she loves to imitate.

"I love Billy Idol with the leather and all the studs and black," Willow said when asked who influences her style.

Despite her young age, Willow has already sat in the front row at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year and revealed while she doesn't know a lot about the industry, she can appreciate the designer labels:

"Milan Fashion Week was fun because I saw how the designers are all so different. Say Dolce and Gabbana, most of their designs were delicate and more fitted but compared to someone else like Ferragamo their stuff was different. Ha I don't know a lot about fashion."
